Jurassic World Rebirth is a 2025 American science fiction action thriller directed by Gareth Edwards and written by David Koepp. Serving as a standalone sequel to Jurassic World Dominion (2022), it marks the fourth installment in the Jurassic World series and the seventh overall in the Jurassic Park franchise. The film features a star-studded cast including Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Ed Skrein.
Development began soon after the release of Dominion, with executive producer Steven Spielberg bringing back Koepp—who co-wrote the original Jurassic Park (1993) and penned The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997)—to craft a new chapter in the saga. News of the project first surfaced in January 2024, and Edwards was confirmed as director the following month. Casting followed shortly, with principal photography taking place from June to September 2024 across locations in Thailand, Malta, and the United Kingdom.
The film had its world premiere on June 17, 2025, at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square in London, and was released in the U.S. and Canada by Universal Pictures on July 2. While reviews were mixed, some critics saw it as a step up from previous installments. With a production budget of $180 million, Jurassic World Rebirth has grossed over $380 million globally, placing it among the top ten highest-grossing films of 2025. |
